Have you ever received an email from HMRC stating that you have a tax refund due to you?

If you have, we are sorry to tell you but it is not real! The HMRC will never contact you about tax refunds via an email.

Unfortunately, many people have been caught out by these email scams over the years and they are getting more and more sophisticated in their appearance and the email addresses that they use.

Please find a link to HMRC’s website here covering security issues http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/security/examples.htm

I am sure that at this time of year the number of emails being sent out will increase, so please ignore them or if you have any queries please give us a call or speak to your accountant.

Be careful out there!
